Blue and Gold Papier Mache and Wood Decorative Box, ‘Kashmir Sapphire’

This elegant decorative box is from Fida Hussain, son of a papier mache artisan. He hopes to preserve that artistic legacy through his own work. The box is crafted from weeping willow wood and papier mache and then carefully painted by hand with a i chinar /i leaf motif in a pretty palette of blue and gold. A velvet lining cushions small treasures.
