Two Tone Green Ceramic Bus Figurine from Guatemala, ‘Green Old Time Bus’

A small green school bus clatters down the roads of rural Guatemala. Usually crowded, it carries people and products going to market. Sometimes known as chicken buses, these old fashioned vehicles inspire Guatemalan ceramicist Vitelio Orozcos diminutive four-inch bus in ceramic, hand-painted in bright colors. A bright palm leaf basket on the roof is filled with a variety of ceramic and pinewood fruits and vegetables.
